Description

What is Club Officer Training (TLI)?

Districts must conduct club officer training twice yearly. The first training must occur between June 1 and August 31, when officers begin their terms. The second training must occur between December 1 and February 28 (or 29). Clubs that have at least four officers attend training during each of these training periods receive credit toward the training goal in the Distinguished Club Program. But the real goal of the officer training is not to fill a requirement. It is to equip the club officer team to successfully serve their club in the role to which they were elected. Every club’s goal should be to have every officer attend training. The member needs and the district resources change, so there are always new things to learn from the training. Plus, the training is counting on the experience of long time Toastmasters to support the discussions of what works for various types of clubs.

Another benefit of the TLI training is the networking you experience when you are with other toastmaster officers in the district. You receive the benefit of learning and connecting with other corporate and community clubs, learn about their challenges and methods used to overcome them.

The district records reflect that clubs whose officers attend the TLI are usually more successful in meeting the needs of their members that clubs whose officers do not attend.

Please join us at a TLI near you!
