Description

The young violinists of Magical Strings West have prepared an exciting concert for you this year, with pieces by Bach, Vivaldi, Brahms, Rimsky-Korsakov, Shostakovich and many more. Come join us for an afternoon of beautiful music.

Our advanced group will present the first portion of the program. Since the concert is long for very young listeners, we encourage those of you with young children to arrive at intermission, around 4:15, to enjoy the shorter second segment of the program, presented by our youngest violinists age 4 and up.

This event is free and open to the public. Magical Strings West is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Your generous tax-deductible donation will help cover the cost of the event and allow us to provide more free concerts to the public. Donations will be accepted online and at the door.

Magical Strings West recently performed at the California Academy of Science as part of their Winter Celebration series. Select members also toured Germany this past summer with our sister group based in Chicago.

Organized by

Magical Strings West was founded in 2011 to provide opportunities for committed young violinists to develop their musical skills within the framework of a top-level performance group. Magical Strings West is a California non-profit public benefit organization that offers young violinists the opportunity to participate in performances for the community, on their own merits as well as in collaboration with master teachers and guest artists.

The children, regardless of their age or their level of proficiency, are encouraged to aspire to, cultivate, and take pride in professionalism in their art. They develop confidence and leadership skills while providing service to the community. Magical Strings West students have performed in many public and private events and are available to enchant audiences at private parties, community festivals, weddings, fundraisers, and office events.

Musical Director Sue Mann has taught violin and directed violin performance groups for 30+ years, in Germany, Chicago (at the Betty Haag Academy of Music), and since 2010 in the San Francisco Bay Area. She currently teaches in her private studio in Palo Alto.
