Clydesdale / Athena Division
New for 2014 we have added both a Clydesdale and Athena Division for the triathlon.
Clydesdale is open for male triathletes over 200 pounds
Athena is open for female triathletes over 160 pounds Event Details Welcome to the 2014 Huntington Beach Triathlon! This early season sprint event consists of a 600M surf start ocean swim, a 10K closed route bike course, and a 2 mile beach run.
The Event starts at 0800am on Saturday, April 26th, 2014 Transition will open (and not before) 0600am to check in your bike. It will not open before, so sleep in so you're not in the way. Course The course starts with a surf start ocean swim in the warm waters of HB. After your first transition, you'll leave on a protected 10K bike course. The run course is a great 2 mile beach run. Awards Awards will be given to top three overall, top three overall female, top three overall male, and top AG M/F. We will also award top three under 15 and top thee beach cruiser division. T-Shirts / Medals T-Shirts and Medals are given to all participants. The T-Shirts are very popular and will be for sale post race
** MEDALS TO FIRST 500 Athletes TO REGISTER Packet Pickup All packets must be picked up prior to race day. The packet pickup location will be located TBD and will be open from 2:00PM to 8:00PM the day before the race. Participants must pick up their own packets please.
Race expo during packet pick-up with local and national sponsors with samples, and last min race supplies Post Race Event After the race we will have over local and national sponsors on-site with product samples and fun activities. Post Race food will be provided for all finishers.
While you are waiting for the awards ceremony, help give back and clean the beach during our Surfrider Foundation beach cleanup. At the 2012-2013 events we picked up over 1000 pounds of trash! Parking Participants are responsible for their own parking to get into parking lot Directions Triathlon will take place on beautiful Huntington State Beach. The event will kick-off around the south side of the state beach near Brookhurst. Beach Cruiser Division This year we are proud to announce a beach cruiser division! If you have to ask me what a beach cruiser is, just register in the individual category! For those of you wanting to bust out your cruiser, we will have awards for top three overall in this division. 5K Run Event This year we are proud to offer a Family Fun Run for those wishing to participate, but only want to run! Its a 5K course and will be on the same run course as the triathlon! This event will start at 0900am.
