Dear Neighborhood Friend: April 2013
On Monday, April 29th 8-12:30pm, the 10th annual "Day of Beauty" to benefit special needs kids and their hard working teachers will be held again at The Paul Mitchell School- Atlanta located at 887 W. Marietta Street, Atlanta @ The King Plow Arts Center.
On this day, volunteers from various salons will be offering haircuts, color services, up do's, facial waxing, make-up, manicures and chair massages to children with Down’s syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Autism – absolutely free.
The schools are all from the Atlanta area as well as my Special Olympics swim team. For most of these kids, this will be their first visit to a professional hair salon.
Last year we serviced over 250 kids and teachers; this year we hope to provide services to over 300 participants. Due to the size of this event, I am asking for more: hair stylists, nail technicians (only doing basic polish application), estheticians (facial waxing only), make-up artists (basic application) andmassage therapists (only doing 15 minute chair massages) to help make this year's event the biggest and best yet.
We'll need you from 8 am until 12:30 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and your salon/spa name will be included in any/all event marketing materials. If you or any of your staff would like to make a special kid's day (and teachers!) one that they will never forget, we would love to have your talented hands on site!
I look forward to hearing from you!
