10th Anniversary Celebration
Weedon Island Cultural and Natural History Center
Join the Friends of Weedon Island, Inc. (FOWI) on Saturday, February 16th to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Weedon Cultural and Natural History Center! The day will be filled with commemorative speakers, special guided hikes, arts and crafts, video presentations, and an indoor scavenger hunt. Light refreshments and cake will be served at noon.
Opening remarks will be held at 10:30.
Guided hikes will begin at 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM and will include a Native American hike, a Coastal Ecology hike, and a Family hike.
Arts and crafts, including fish printing* and Play-do pottery will be offered in the classroom. Three ecological and archeological videos will be playing in the auditorium and a scavenger hunt will enhance visitor's experience in the exhibit area. Prizes will be awarded for those that complete the scavenger hunt.
*Bring a blank T-shirt or reusable bag to make a commemorative fish print.
