About the speakers

‘The role of the volunteer fundraiser’ will be delivered by Kirsty McDowell, trainer, professional cellist and amateur French horn player. After six years working for Making Music in North East England and two years with the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Kirsty now runs her own business, Fish Quay Consulting. Here she specialises in providing affordable advice, training, and project / development support to community groups and charities (large and small) around the UK.

Lake District Summer Music runs a friends scheme for patrons and has received funds through grants and foundations as well as corporate sponsorship. The festival celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2014 and continues to fulfil a major role in the provision of music regionally.
