100-50-1 is a new photo exhibition, bringing together fifty of the world’s most talented mobile photographers to showcase portraits they’ve captured using their smartphones. Each photographer will show two portraits for a total of 100 pieces. The show will open in San Francisco at The NWBLK.
The money raised from the sale of the show catalog will be donated to 100cameras, a nonprofit that empowers kids to create tangible change in their communities by teaching them to capture their lives through photography.
About The NWBLK
The New Black is a dynamic design environment promoting innovation in applied arts and culture, and hosting events for some of the most celebrated brands, artists, and individual's in the world. Changing the way we perceive, value, and purchase great design, the NWBLK's store and showroom introduces contemporary furniture, fashion, lighting, and objects previously unavailable to market.
100cameras empowers kids to create tangible change in their communities by teaching them to capture their lives through photography. 100cameras then sell their photographs, with 100% of purchases giving children the opportunity to share their perspectives and create positive change in their community by funding local solutions to local problems in the areas of education, lifeline supplies and healthcare needs.
We hope you'll join us over the weekend as the photography festivities continue with a photowalk around San Francisco with some of the featured photographers. More details to come soon.
