ABOUT HOLLYROD FOUNDATION
In 1997, Holly and Rodney formed the HollyRod Foundation, inspired by her father’s courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, with the mission to help improve the quality of life of people with Parkinson’s. Then in 2005, motivated by their eldest son’s autism diagnosis, HollyRod’s mission expanded to provide support and resources to those affected by an autism diagnosis.
Autism is often difficult to explain to siblings and classmates so Holly and her daughter Ryan Elizabeth Peete, co-authored the award winning book My Brother Charlie (Scholastic). The follow up Same But Different: Teen Life on the Autism Express (Scholastic) hits bookstores this Spring. Realizing fathers raising a child with autism had few templates to guide them, Rodney wrote Not My Boy! A Father, a Son, and One Family’s Journey with Autism (Hyperion).
