Toronto Carretilla Initiative - Luminato 2012

Come cook and eat a meal with the Toronto Carretilla Initiative! Inspired by international street food, Austrian artist Rainer Prohaska brings people together to collectively prepare and share meals in unexpected locations and through unconventional means. Rainer takes on Toronto’s food scene in this *FREE* event - dispersing mobile kitchen carts throughout the city and assembling them into larger sculptures. The public is invited to collectively prepare and partake in a meal. Once the meal has been consumed, the kitchen is dismantled, leaving just a flavourful memory in the mind, and on the palate. Prohaska is linking Luminato’s food and visual arts programs, questioning our relationship to food and to each other.

Follow the performances on twitter via #TCIFood.

You don't need to have cooking experience to take part, as you will be guided by an experienced cook. You do need to be 16 or over. All supplies and equipment will be provided.
