Haiti Connect

Haiti Connect, is an Irish nonprofit volunteer organization. It was established days after the earthquake that devastated parts of Haiti on January 12, 2010 killing over 200,000 people, displaced millions and destroyed much of the infrastructure. Our aim is to assist the people of Haiti and Haitian organisations to improve their lives, economy and country.

Technology we started out working to to provide Internet access to other NGO’s, hospitals, orphanages and other suitable locations using wifi technology. This is still the main focus of our work but in the year that we have been active in Haiti we have expanded this focus greatly. In addition to Internet access we are also providing computer equipment and networks. We provide electrical power when we can and do our best raising and providing medical supplies and equipment. In short we will try to do whatever is needed.

Haiti Connect is global. We work with volunteers from all over the globe. The initial publicity was pushed out through various social media channels: Twitter, Facebook andLinkedIn and we have received a huge wave of interest both from volunteers, sponsors and groups in Haiti interested in using our services.
