Zachary Johnson
Dream Consultant at TechShop
Zack's maker career started with Legos. His obsession with building things grew into tree-forts and later into potato cannons and catapults. He impressed his high-school physics class by catapulting a soft ball across the parking lot and into a car. He got an 'A' on the project and detention. In college he studied engineering as well as international politics and language. As a senior, Zack built a computerized habitat for oysters for the University. He also developed a fondness for travel and adventure and immediately after graduating, flew to San Francisco —and never caught his return flight. Now he helps other people follow their dreams by teaching CNC machining and electronics at TechShop. He has been a Dream Coach since July 2010 and some of his current projects include: embedded systems work for a model of Alcatraz for NPS and prototyping and developing new type of surfboard with a partner in the Bay Area.
