Garden for the Environment

Garden for the Environment is a 1/2 acre sustainable garden featuring drought-tolerant landscaping, fruit tree orchards, vegetable beds, compost, and much more. Since 1990 we have taught urban gardeners through youth field trips, adult workshops, volunteer hours, and a renowned 3-month training program. Our mission is to provide practical skills for all San Franciscans to personally contribute to sustainability through urban gardening. Join our gardening experts each week to learn how to grow food, conserve water with native and drought-tolerant plants, and build soil with compost.
