BATON ROUGE DELTA DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (BRDDC)

The Baton Rouge Delta Development Corporation (BRDDC), the non-profit 501(c)(3) component of Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter (BRDAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, will focus on building and strengthening partnerships with residents, community organizations, and community leaders in a Day of Service/Beautification project in the 70805 zip code of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.   

Since its inception, BRDDC has supported the establishment of programs in the Greater Baton Rouge area that focus on enhancing education, scientific initiatives, and religious institutions. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. since its inception has committed to provide support to the underserved; educate and stimulate participation in the establishment of positive public policy; and to highlight issues and provide solutions for problems in the community. BRDDC, has committed to solving the problems in the community by hosting programs such as the Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Breakfast for twelve years where the life of Dr. King is honored with community service awards presented to other organizations with similar community service goals; Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence (EMBODI) - Tailgate to Save Our Boys;  First Time Home Buyers Seminars; and various youth educational development programs- Delta GEMS to catch the dreams of African American at-risk, adolescent girls aged 14-18, Delta Academy to enrich and enhance the education for young females ages 11-14, and D.R.E.A.M. an after school program geared toward fifth grade boys and girls to prepare them for educational, social, and economic achievement while providing tools for successful transition into higher education.
