CLE Brews

CLE Brews is Cleveland's newest league of coffee geeks who have come together with the unified purpose of strengthening the region's coffee culture and community through knowledge, sharing and cooperation.

We define and measure the strength of our region's coffee culture and community by the number of committed, professional baristas and successful independent coffee shops. This culture can be supported by educating our customer base, as well as creating enthusiasm and respect for coffee and its artisan preparation. The CLE Brews Team includes Erie Island Coffee Company, Phoenix Coffee Company and Red Cedar Coffee. In these difficult economic times, these coffee competitors have chosen to work together cooperatively for the common good.

The Latte Art event will be held at Tri-C's beautifully designed Hospitality Management Center located on 180 Euclid Avenue, Public Square. The facility, which houses the college's Hospitality Management program, provides two demonstration studios, an outside dining patio, and a video screen for spectators and coffee fans to view the excitement from outside.

Our Cause

We are able to send all of the proceeds from this event to the ASOBAGRI Coop due to our partnership with the Cafe Femenino Foundation. The Cafe Femenino Foundation does great work at coffee origin to build sustainable communities, specifically with women-owned coffee farms. Their goal is to work within the existing socio-economic structure to foster change. By supporting women coffee growers, they are able to improve the quality of life in the entire community and build a sustainable economic system. The CLE Brews team is truly grateful to the Cafe Femenino crew for helping us to help the coffee producing community in Guatemala, by making sure that we have a transparent method for getting the proceeds from this event directly to the people who need it most. You can learn more about their efforts at www.coffeecan.org
