Mean Gene may have earned his moniker from playing a “mean” guitar but when it comes to promotion, he is a shameless promoter with a notorious reputation for outrageous publicity stunts that have resulted in seven #1 songs, over one-million downloads and packed houses at his shows!
This time, he has pulled out all the stops to promote what people are calling one of the most exciting live entertainment events coming to Southeast Texas: Mean Gene’s Southern Fried 4th Of July Picnic and Music Festival to be held at The Hawg Stop Amphitheater in Houston.
Mean Gene’s 4th of July Picnic event has been compared to another famous Texas singer’s 4th of July Picnic, but he insists that his event will be more like “Woodstock... Texas Style!”
“We are bringing in some of the hottest Southern Fried bluesrock bands from around Texas and across the country,“ says Mean Gene. “Their music appeals to people who’s musical tastes includes ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Stevie Ray Vaughan!”
Talk about “shamless promotion” Mean Gene is even publishing his own special edition magazine featuring stories and articles about the event, bands and charity organizations benefiting from the event. This special collector’s edition publication will be distributed across Southeast Texas.
During the event, a live CD and DVD will be recorded to capture the event for all time much like the original live footage of Woodstock. Sponsor’s names listed on the CD and DVD jacket as well as listed in the rolling credits ON THE DVD!
