Eventbrite credit card processing hits Canada

As you probably know, Eventbrite offers several platforms for processing payments. You’re free to use PayPal, Google Checkout, or our own standard credit card processing (also known as EPP). We’re big fans of the standard method, because it lets attendees buy their tickets without leaving our site, resulting in faster conversions (and as a result, more tickets sold). It also involves no added setup time.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that Eventbrite’s standard credit card processing is now available for our Canadian customers! Effective, well, a couple weeks ago—kudos to those of you who spotted it—our neighbors to the north can experience the single-site goodness that our American users have been enjoying.

Here’s the nitty-gritty: “EPP Canada” works with Visa or MasterCard; has a 3.5% transaction fee; and is direct-deposit only (but hey, direct-deposit beats checks anyway!) You can head here for the full comparison. Have fun using it for your next event!

  • Hi Suzanne—hmm, it should be showing up for you, unless you’ve already started ticket sales for a given event. Feel free to drop us a line (800-350-8850).
